- Taiwanese WiMAX carrier Far Eastone announced on April 20, 2011 that the company will add approximately 11,000 hot spots throughout Taiwan, aiming to increase the number of hot spots to approximately 25,000 by the end of 2011, according to the Commercial Times of Taiwan. It is reported that Far Eastone will also offer free Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) access to its subscribers.
